Nano Materials in Architecture
“Nano Materials in Architecture, Interior architecture and Design” by Slyvia Leydecker has become the main inspiration for my work. Nanotechnology is widely regarded as one of the twenty-first century’s key technologies, and its economic importance is sharply on the rise. In architecture and the construction industry it has potentials that are already usable today, especially the coating of surfaces to lend them functional characteristics such as increased tensile strength, self-cleaning capacity, fire resistance, and others. The reason for investigating this book in the first place was I have always been extremely interested in materials and the making of materials, I found the idea of manufacturing a material that has no flaws incredibly interesting. Through this book I began to research numerous fields relating to Nanotechnology. Thats when I came across NanoArchitecture, this subject became increasing interesting and was my main source of research throughout my degree. It shows a futuristic approach to nanotechnology and the construction of architecture atom by atom. Their was three other books that became the foundation of my work:
“An Evoloutionary Architecture” by John Fraser
“Organics” by William Katavolos
”A New Species of Architecture” by John M. Johansen”
